A very informative article on Steve Heyer –The Soccer Player

Stephon Heyer one of the most popular and aggressive of American football players, was born in 1984 in Lawrenceville, Georgia to Roland and Glenda Heyer. He completed his schooling from the Brookwood High School located in Snelville, Georgia. Thereafter, he went on to study in Maryland University and passed out with a major in criminology and criminal justice. His brush with American football started way back in 2007, when he was booked as an undrafted sportsperson for Washington Redskins. All players in NFL (National Football League) have to go through numerous rounds that make up a draft before being picked up by the participating teams. Those that are not selected are known as ‘undrafted sportspersons’ and are free to register with any team of their choice.

Stephon Heyer’s coming of age as a football player

In the year (2007), Steve Heyer was signed on as an undrafted agent for Washington Redskins, he also started playing for the team, which represents Washington D.C. and the headoffice is located in Ashburn, Virginia. Till date, he has participated in a total of 61 games and kicked off 35 games. His stature (he’s about 6’ 6” tall) and massive weight (he weighs 145 kg)   gives him an edge to take on his opponents and adversaries aggressively at the vanguard. Till his opening stint as a football player with Washington Redskins, he kept on playing for the same till 2010. Thereafter, he signed a contract to represent Oakland Raiders in 2011. Oakland Raiders is one of the oldest footballing outfits that were founded in 1960 and the team represents Oakland, CA.

Stephon didn’t even play for a year with Oakland Raiders and switched allegiance with New York Jets in 2012 and currently represents them. New York Jets is based in Florham Park in New Jersey and is the footballing front of New York’s metropolitan area.

Stephon Heyer’s colourful career

Steve Heyer represented Maryland University during his alma mater days and played in a total of 50 games out of which 37 games were initiated at the left tackle position. His college career came to a culmination after he was drafted to play in the Hula Bowl in 2007. The Hula Bowl used to be an invitational inter college football event that was autonomous in nature and the last meet was held in 2008. Stephen has won honours as an All-ACC-Lineman in 2006. He has played in the left tackle position since 2002 and repeated his stints in 2003 and 2004 playing in 13 and 11 games respectively.
